Nostalgia trip

40+ years ago, Rob proposed to me, by the shores of Lake Vyrnwy. Of course, I said yes!
Our first home was the warden’s house at the Llanwddyn visit centre. My sister came to visit us there, and met Chris, the seasonal warden, and they fell in love and got married too!
Rob and Chris planted 4000 oak trees while we were there, on a large clear fell area. We have always been curious to know how those trees got on, and so the four of us went today to have a look. And it has become a beautiful deciduous woodland!! What a wonderful legacy to future generations that is, and one of the oaks was planted on the day of the birth of our first son Andrew, so even more special.
We had a delightful day, wandering around old haunts. Bonnie had a lovely time too, and almost swam in the lake…I am sure she will do that soon.
