By George, A Massive Outage

I spotted a tiny crab spider on the bluebell that my sister included in her tribute to MrQ. I haven't seen a dark coloured common crab spider like this before. Xysticus cristatus will take ants, which other spiders avoid. This is a male, see his 'boxing gloves'. He will grab a female by her leg and when she stops struggling tie her down to the ground with silk. He'll then crawl underneath her and mate with her.

My son phoned this afternoon about the power outage in Spain that is causing chaos. I'd just been thinking how to mark the fact that it's St George's Day and singing, The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain. By George she's got it! My son asked me to read what the media here was saying about the loss of power as he had no internet. I read to him that some sources had said that it was caused by a rare atmospheric phenomenon. He immediately said that it could have been a coronal mass ejection.

The power in Spain
stays mainly off, a pain.
