He's back

Dan's ship arrived in Southampton on Friday morning. He'd be asked to MD* a performance at P&O, which he did in the afternoon, and then he headed back up to London. 

I drove down to Mum's today, to stay for a few days, which was arranged a while before I found out that Dan's band, Running Standard, were playing tonight at The Old Blue Last in Shoreditch. So that worked out well! 

My good friend and erstwhile bandmate, Ash, was also up for seeing Dan play live, so the three of us met up early evening for a few beers before proceeding to the venue.

Man, it was lovely to see Dan again. He was just his usual self in the best possible way.

And the gig was great, too. As they were somewhat under-rehearsed, they worked harder than usual, which resulted in a slicker performance. To be honest, I like it when they're a bit more haphazard!
