Fabric-ation

A glorious day out at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park today. The forecast was mixed but we drove through the rain and it was sunny all the time we were there, how lucky were we; although prepared for rain, it is always more comfortable when walking round to be dry and to be able to appreciate the fantastic views.

I had gone specifically to see the exhibition by one of my favourite artists Yinka Shonibare and it didn't disappoint. This is called Wind Sculpture, one of two new outdoor pieces and the title was apt as it was quite breezy. It was inspired by ships' sails, I think following his work for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square recently, Nelson's Ship in a Bottle.
