Tokaido

"The Tōkaidō (東海道), meaning "Eastern Sea Route," was the most significant of the Five Routes established during the Edo period (1603–1868) in Japan. It connected Edo (now Tokyo), the seat of the Tokugawa shogunate, to Kyoto, the imperial capital." - various sources.


The boardgame Tokaido, which we played this evening, has the theme of travelling this road, chatting to people, taking money from farms (not sure how that works...), visiting temples and baths, and admiring the views (blip).  It's very gentle as games go.

It's also the only photo I took today (well, bar that of a half bag of plasterboard adhesive - this was prettier).
