For Whom the Bell Tolls
Good luck cards are hard to find. I was sure I could find one at M&S but failed. Every other occasion is catered for , Birthdays, Retirement, Sympathy, Moving House, New Job but absolutely no Good Luck cards for the current students sitting exams. I mentioned it to an assistant but she said the card collection was not chosen by M&S but she would mention it to the appropriate person. I eventually found one for Theo, whose exams start on Thursday, in the local Post Office. Nina already has one sent by post. Her exams start on Monday.
My usual Saturday coffee drinking pals were not in evidence this morning and I was home in time to watch part of the Mass for the late Pope. The scene in Rome made for wonderful theatre- the organisation was quite an achievement and as always you hear more about a person after they are gone than you ever knew before.
It was a dull still day and as I stravaiged over the Meadows to hand in Theo’s card it felt quite damp. The cherry blossom is having a good run for its money this year and has not been blown off or rained off yet.
The gardens are full of colour and I love the Clematis Montana forming a pink hedge in one garden I passed.
It still feels as though it could rain at any point but it’s still dry at 4pm. I can’t remember so many weeks with so little rain in this area. If you don’t have a garden, it’s a plus! The
