The accidental finding

Wallpaper in the air b n b kitchen (backblip)

I left the air b ‘n’ b about 9.30 after a good chat with the host. They are trying to move to Stroud, and I’ve said I’ll put people their way if they get their house.
Such lovely people!

Wandered around the charity shops in Cheltenham, looking for a birthday present for GG and a fresh set of jigsaws. Had arranged to meet D outside John Lewis, but he surprised me in the street. I am concerned about his appearance, he is not dressing well and was complaining that moths had destroyed the overcoat that he’d had since 1962. I did not mention that in 1962 he was 20, and it would be unlikely that the same coat would fit him now!

We went for breakfast/brunch. He was a bit miffed that I hadn’t offered him the spare ticket for the Chris Wood gig but honestly, the venue was a tight squeeze and very hot, and I’m not sure that he would have enjoyed the leftie folky songs. He’s more of an opera fan. A woman came into the cafe who knew him from church. She asked him if he was going to the mass for the pope at 9.30 on Saturday. He said he was going to a live streaming of an Opera with his stepdaughter. Later I texted him and said, but the mass is in the morning! He replied that he had lots of ironing to do. It’s not like him to miss a mass.

Missed the bus back to Stroud by one minute! Walked to another area rich in charity shops and caught the next one an hour later. Almost finished the current jigsaw last night at home. It’s a hard one called Ilfracombe harbour with many areas of muted colour.
