Beneath the Walls

Shopping, driving, then a stopover alongside another fortified town, Rocroi, on the edge of the Ardennes. The fortifications gave the town a star shape and we refreshed ourselves after the drive by walking the footpath around the perimeter, with views of the original walls, plus grass-covered earthworks with wild flowers, leading to open countryside. The Blip shows a group of sheep coming down on the earthworks and lit by the very low evening sun - it's the only photo I've extracted so far from the many I took!
