Above Finstown (Day 3637)
Awake at stupid o'clock this morning for my beautiful wife to zoom off and catch the ferry south. I got out with Sigyn for her first wander of the day, and after breakfast had a bit of a tidy up in the back of the van.
Work for the morning was through in Stromness doing a job I wasn't looking forward to - changing a shower valve which was built into the wall for a new one. The customer had bought a new shower valve which was significantly different from the old one. The only option was to cut a large hole in the fairly new wet wall and fit the valve in the space. By lunchtime I had the new valve fitted and a template made for the customer to take to a local supplier to get a sheet of stainless steel cut to cover the hole.
I zoomed home to get Sigyn out for her second wander of the day and, after lunch, headed back to Stromness to finish the shower replacement. I don't think I have ever taken longer to replace a shower, but the customer is happy with the result.
