How green is my valley

The lily of the valley plants in our garden have really taken hold and multiplied since I first planted them, and they’re flowering earlier than usual this year, which means I have been able to see and enjoy them before we go away.

Tomorrow, all being well, we shall be in Langdale, our favourite valley in the glorious Lake District, where the fellsides will be starting to turn green as the ferns shoot up and unfurl.  

The Traveller will leave in Smithers’ laden car before we’re awake, and will probably have arrived in Langdale before we leave the house. He’s a star. All we have to bring is ourselves (and one small rucksack for me), which will make our train journeys much more manageable, because I will be able to help Smithers deal with all the stairs, and getting in and out of the trains, without having to worry about carrying luggage as well.
