Lush!

This morning I had a bit of admin to do for my Mum. Paying the care home bill from Barclays was hard work - they were convinced it was a scam, I knew it wasn't (though the cost might suggest that they have a point...) Anyway I jumped through all their hoops and got there in the end.

A bit later I went out for a walk through town. Right in the middle of town, near a busy car park, I met a beautiful little silver tabby cat. She ambushed me for a fuss and I couldn't refuse of course. She had a collar with an electronic tag, probably to open a cat-flap. She wasn't a stray. But I'd worry if she was my cat. A car park isn't a good hangout, and she's so friendly it would be easy for someone to take her.

I walked past Lush and really like the window, supporting trans rights. Transgender people, particularly trans women are one of the most oppressed groups in society. It scares me and I worry for my own daughter who is transgender. I know a lot of people fear what they don't understand or have any experience of beyond the loud rhetoric of the culture war against trans people. But the vast majority of this tiny (less than 2%) of society just want to live peacefully, work and contribute to society the same as everyone else.

Well done to Lush!
