Thursday
I woke this afternoon after 14hrs solid sleep. I woke to unbearable pain. I managed some toast and half a cup of tea and wondered what to do. I decided to call the Dr's but no appts left for the day. She asked if I wanted a duty Dr to call me, yes please! They did, I talked and she asked me to come along. The pain walking was awful. She took all my vitals, I spoke her through what I thought was happening and what happened 3 yrs all. She phoned the hospital to find the place to be, medical or surgical. I got a taxi out to the Royal. Triage, ECG, then lots of waiting and pacing . Bloods taken, chest x Ray, prodding, and lots of waiting. Got given morphine and anti sickness and that took the edge off a little. Got told i was being admitted to the surgical ward overnight as they also thought it may be gallstones.
Lots of waiting, a bit of sleeping, more prodding. The dr thinks it could be a flare up of the duodenitis, and gall stones and inflamed gallbladder. They can't fit me in to do an ultra sound Fri, so sent me home at 2.20am. Going back on Sat to get ultrasound.
Came home with instructions to double my normal meds, take codeine, which is a milder version of morphine and buscopan. £45 in taxi fares, 8hrs in hospital and I'm finally in my own bed.
