While on my runs

Welcome to work

The last day of work for a couple of weeks. We are leaving for Sydney on Monday. To visit Tsuken and his family, and then to Gold Coast for the College Annual Congress.

There has been a sudden drop in staffing levels. Two of the senior doctors were absent (one unexpectedly), and three of the registrars were away for different reasons. The day started well with the sky lit up, and then the pressure steadily mounted due to the number of cases where one of us had to do assessments or appear before a Judge to determine whether or not a compulsory treatment order needs to be made, and is legally right.

(Unusually for me, this is the third back blip in a row. I had had enough of computer screens each day, so deferred until this morning, This is ANZAC Day, commemoration of the Battle of Gallipoli. Why we commemorate battles that were lost is a good question to think on, this day.)
