Breakfast Snack...

I always feel a bit sad for the captured prey, the creature that was just going about its life. But...even hawks got to eat and feed their young. This Red-shouldered hawk sat, for just a moment, in the beautiful sunlight before it flew off with the brown anole. Probably on a mission to feed her hungry kids. Raptor chicks fledge early. Mother designs it this way so that they are able to be out and learning to hunt while other species are just birthing their offspring. Mother is so very wise! m
