Bluebell beauties - Hucking Woods

Watched the window cleaners ply their trade on Doreen’s house while looking at blip journals and doing a bit of cleaning myself. From there I went to see the Secretary of the Bearsted and Thurnham Society to tell him about our move and finally talked to the chair of BearstedCAN.

I have a plan for working the allotment by seeing if anyone would like to partner with us for the year; sow, plant, cultivate and harvest alongside us and gain experience of working an allotment. The Parish Council has agreed. BearstedCAN will email out to see if there is anyone in the membership who would be interested.

This afternoon we went to the Woodland Trust’s Hucking Estate with friends Erika and Jonathan to walk in the woods, see the bluebells, have coffee and cake looking south from the crest of the North Downs and calling in for refreshment at the Hook and Hatchet pub at the end.

We’ve been to these woods many times in the past decades and is a favourite place of ours. Hucking woods have one of the best displays of bluebells in the area as you can tell

By way of a rest for me from cooking this evening we went to a new Indian restaurant in Jubilee Square called Mallus. The Kerala cuisine was excellent. Best Indian meal out for a very long time.
