Confusion Reigns (or snows) on the Royal Mile...

... a number of confused onlookers watched as two snowmen were spotted on Edinburgh's Royal Mile earlier today. Lucy (18), seen here on the right of the picture, was quoted as saying "I'm both confused and an onlooker."

Various Climate Change pressure groups are claiming that this is evidence of global warming, whilst others state that it is a direct result of global cooling. Both camps cite data first published in 2009 by UEA-CRU in support of their claims.

Alternatively there is a real possibility that it could be as a result of an early start by John Lewis with their 2013 Christmas advertising campaign.

On a point of clarification, following a number of enquiries from passing tourists, no, these are not giant pandas and, no, they have not escaped from the zoo!!!
