Vancouver - the other side

Yesterday, we did "urban" Vancouver; today it was "natural" Vancouver, with its inlets, parks, and beaches. Just as amazing...

This is a view from earlier in the morning from Mount Burnaby overlooking the Burrard inlet , after a hefty thunderstorm had dumped quite a bit of rain. Its Indian River Arm extends straight north into mountainous wilderness, which can only be reached by boat. There are almost no habitations there, which means it is probably in the same state as when the early settlers first arrived. What a strange concept to think of complete wilderness just a stone's throw from a major metropolis...

All the clouds and mist lifted an hour later to full sun, just in time for an afternoon barbecue with relatives :)
