Easter Picnic

Sad beginning to the day with the news that Pope Francis died at 7:35 this morning. He was a good man, and can only hope whoever is the next pope will carry on his with his humility and care for the vulnerable.

It's the tradition in these parts to have a picnic on Easter Monday, preferably by the Lake - most of Mourão go to St Peter's hermitage on the Island, but we decided to join the expat one, who decamped to Gil and Arlinda's porch because of the threatened rain, which didn't arrive until late - but think it put a lot of people off. This was before most folk arrived.

When the rain let up, we walked up our Land to find that our top building had been broken into, through the roof, and a bike stolen. So annoying. Mike went to report to the police who, to our surprise, took it seriously and came to take fingerprints and so on.
