A bit early, a bit late

A big change to yesterday’s weather but it didn’t rain as much as I expected.

It was a little bit early but I may not be able to get back before it’s gone over. 
Merlin told me there were redstarts about and then I saw them high up in a nearby tree.
I then went over to Aira to see if there were any sporangia about but knew I had probably left it too late … and I had … so here’s a blip I made earlier … https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3216882477536642379 

However, as I searched I was rewarded with the Frankia alni, on the root of an alder, that I had been looking for earlier this year … (extra)

I do love alder. G’s old forestry clogs were made of alder.
