About the rain and more

Our ten year old tent could not cope with a night of rain.  We could see the small puddles of water in the corners. We know the symptoms of a worn coating all too well and are relieved that we are finding out now and not later in the summer holidays.  We packed everything and cycled to Bert's oldest brother and his wife in Kampen via the shortest route. We left the route for what it was because it was still raining and we didn't want to arrive soaking wet.
Only after the visit did we start to make our plans. Finding a place to stay on Easter in the most Christian area of the Netherlands was more difficult than expected. The private addresses did not respond. And there are not many hotels.
We've found a B&B in Zwartsluis, a pretty small town.

On my blip of today you see a farm on a terp, as we've seen many terps on our way today. One of those was very new, with two houses and sheds, also ver resently build.

It is still raining. We have made contact with a private address (vrienden op de fiets) in Steenwijk to stay at their place tomorrow night since it still will be raining tomorrow. In Steenwijk is a large outdoor shop where we will probably be able to buy a new tent. The forecasts are good for a few days.
