Violets

Violets in the back garden, though whether they're sweet violets or dog violets I really don't know!

MrM set out early this morning for a day's fishing with Martin. Meanwhile, I had a busy day closer to home.

First an appointment at the surgery with a physiotherapist. It seems that the pains in my leg are most likely caused by the statins, but the hip and knee problems are due to arthritis, and to be expected with age! I left with two sets of exercises to be done daily, but to report back in a couple of months if they don't help. Hey ho!

After that, caught a bus into Huddersfield for an eye test, but time to spare before that so I popped into the Porter Hill tea shop, as recommended by some of the drummers. Sampled a very nice mint and spearmint tea as I browsed their selection of beverages. Left with several different teas, including one called tiramisu, which sounds like tea for coffee drinkers! Thinking of coffee, I had late-morning refreshment at the café in Byrom Arcade, before going to the opticians.

A new prescription is required, so then came the difficult part - choosing new frames. It took a while to narrow down some that I liked, only to discover that two pairs (from the kids' section) were too small, and two were too large, leaving one pair from the 'smaller fit' range. Had another quick browse around that range (apparently 'normal' fit were all likely to be too big...), as I'd hoped to buy two pairs of specs, but failed to find any other frames I liked, so one pair of specs is on order. My present pair of glasses will have to do as spares.
