How To Cater For A Hungry Guest At Easter

As is becoming a rather regular habit I have fallen well behind with my journal again and I thought that posting this image at any other time than Easter would be a bit odd so here it is!
Today had started very early for me as I woke up at 3 am - I've had a stinking cold for the last couple of days and arose from my interrupted sleep with a runny nose and a throbbing headache. So I groped my way down the stairs in the dark (no idea why I didn't just turn a light on!) and into our kitchen to locate and ingest a couple more cold and flu tablets.
This is when I heard a scrabbling in one of our kitchen cupboards and looked inside to find that one of the humane mouse traps (we couldn't bear the thought of just killing them) we had set the night before had managed to capture one of our furry little friends - after discovering their presence over the last few days (there is more to this story which I will furnish you with in one of my upcoming catch-up blips - you lucky people!).
It was far too early to go outdoors to release it and so I tried to say a few comforting words to it before I stumbled back upstairs (I still hadn't turned a light on) to try and get some more shut eye.
Eventually I did resurface at about 6.30 and my brother said he would accompany me to one of our local recreation grounds to finally release the little blighter back into the 'wild'. It took a little persuasion to get out of the trap but in due course it zig zagged off into the close at hand undergrowth.
My brother then decided that as we were already up he wanted to go and photograph an abandoned house nearby for his own blip journal but we came away empty handed as he couldn't quite get the viewpoint he wanted but instead of heading straight home I persuaded him to take a small detour to West Malling to see if we could capture some images of the town before it awoke from its retail slumber.
It felt slightly surreal to be strolling around the still empty streets at such an early hour (it was still only just after 7 am) but we did both manage to get images that we were happy with.
My main image is of the Easter window display of one of the town's eateries, The Hungry Guest, which for no reason I can think of we have never actually frequented, with the extra being a not so much run of the mill abstract of an estate agency sign!
So perhaps a bit of strange way of saying Happy Easter to all my fellow blippers! :-)
