Lies in the Sky

The day started and the sky looked as though it was promising a nice day. This turned out to be false as later on it became increasingly cloudy, before later turning to consistent rain.

As a result of the weather, I was almost left without a photograph for the day. In emergency I had to turn to a picture taken in an idle moment earlier in the day.

Needs must and here it is. If it shows anything it can only be that early sunshine is not necessarily a harbinger of how the weather will be for the rest of the day. It may also show that even the most boxy architecture can look not too bad in the right weather.

While not really part of undiscovered Aberdeen on this site, until about ten years ago, used to stand the Grampian Television Aberdeen Studios, further back on this same site there used to be a tram depot. I have also been told that not far from this site there used to be a whisky distillery, but no evidence of the distillery survives.

I have just noticed this will be my 700th Blip. On such an anniversary it is just as well I had a photograph to post, and to preserve my unbroken record. A record unbroken since I started on this endeavour almost two years ago. Perhaps though not one of my best ever photographs!
