Jazz in the Park

A great day out starting with a carvery lunch with a friend, then a walk by the river on our way to see today's band on Jesus Green. We took our folding chairs and found a good spot at the front so that we could listen to The Savoy Jazz Band and watch the dancing. There were many people out today having picnics and barbecues and the weather was good too. People of all ages joined in the dancing, including me when an old friend from my teenage days whom I used to dance with made me get up and jive. It was hard going on the grass even with my shoes off, but I did have a go ! A most enjoyable day and good Trad Jazz music. Next band in the park will be in the grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall on the 25 August and Royston Town Brass Band will entertain us.
