South Coast Scribblings

In the cornfield

Son and I went out for a walk this afternoon with the intention of walking round a part of the village with more old buildings in to blip, but I decided they weren't particularly photogenic (in fact one now has paint peeling off and looked a bit unsightly, which is a shame as it dates from the 1700's). So we went for a walk through some fields at the back and I decided I liked this photo best. The weather was surprisingly hot this afternoon considering there was a stiff breeze - certainly no need for coats or cardigans today. We'd had torrential downpours this morning!

All the chairs from church were brought round in cars to our garage tonight. We have a lot of space in it (mainly because our car is too big to get in there!) and it's a good place to use to store them in during the children's holiday club. We leave a few chairs around for helpers, but the kids tend to just sit on the floor. This makes it easier for them to run around, dance, play indoor games (if it's rainy) etc! It's setting up day tomorrow, when all the clever art work goes up on the walls (one of our deacons is very talented in that way) and we have children's safety training etc. So it will be a busy time for the next week, but very enjoyable.
