Common Whitebeam ( Sorbus aria )
The major point to record was my first opticians appointment after my cataract operations and the treatment for the slight problem. A very thorough check he declared my eyes were in prefect health. Obviously I need glasses for reading but that is all. So I am back to biennial eye tests mainly checking health as the sight is unlikely (unable?) to change.
At this time of year the Whitebeam in the garden is just bursting bud. For a short while they stand up like little fluffy candles. Once the leaves have opened out the first shower of rain seems to destroy all the little hairs and the never (in my opinion at least) look as attractive. I always blip them at that stage, here we have this years offering.
