Ride It Out

The view from Traprain back east over Dunbar and the North Sea.

The summer definitely turned to autumn today. This time of year is one of transition. In years gone by my life has transitioned at this time of year and it was all a bit much.

So, guess what? I got on the bike and rode the day away. Ahhh, much better. I rode about 25 miles in all, not too far, and with the wind in my face on the outward leg and behind me on the way back. Downhill into East Linton I hit 40mph which was a bit sketchy, but by hell that was good.

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
