Don't let anyone tell you...

...that changing electricity suppliers and tariffs is easy. 

We had never done it before , but in January we moved from Ovo to Octopus, largely to get the tariff we wanted which would utilise not only our solar panels, which we have had for over a decade, but also our batteries which we put in last year. 

The upside is that our cars , which are both electric, are now  getting some part of their charge from our own generation, and that is improving as the days get longer.  Shortly we will also start to get paid for the excess in generation too. 

But it would all be much easier if the  power companies spoke to each other instead of trying to do so through their customers.....
