Track to the river

Bean and I took Marian for a walk at Bortons Pond this afternoon. This track heads off from the pond towards the Waitaki River. It is used by fishermen with boats to access the river. Salmon and trout are caught.

Marian was game for a paddle, so we waded across the ford and did the full circuit. 

For once I didn't notice the birds too much because we were chatting nonstop. It is lovely to share tales and laughter.

Now I'm going to flop onto the sofa and disappear into a book...
