Made in the UK

Went for a fabulous run this morning along the Leeds Liverpool canal tow path, I imagined ponies pulling along the barges and saw a few of both but neither tethered to each other, lots of activity as locks were operated and vessels moved hither.

Even more impressive was a chance halt at a level crossing to be rewarded with a steam train complete with passenger carriages charging through at an incredible rate, steam bellowing, driver waving, bystanders in awe at witnessing something that is far from commonplace

Annoyingly I didn't have my camera for any of this, I was kicking myself, a mini trip back to the industrial revolution and nothing to record it on. Curses!

Today's blip however is a purchase I made only yesterday and reminded me of the era of barges, steam and spinning mills. I'm a huge lover of wool. It's just the most wonderful of fabrics, farmers getting a pittance for a fleece for something that can be turned into something so wonderful seems very wrong and it's a myth it's itchy and horrid!

This huge tartan blanket is going to keep me warm of an evening in front of the stove as the nights draw in and the nip in the air returns again and what does its label say?

'Made in the UK' of course.
