The Wall!

Hadrian's Wall actually!

We have just returned home after a weekend staying with friends in Hexham.
Had a wonderful time.
A lot of catching up to do as we haven't seen them since they moved up there, from Yorkshire.
Ate a lot, drank a fair bit, and laughed loads!
What a great couple they are, and very good friends.

Today ( after a huge breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, beans, and mushrooms ) we went to see if we could find the pub MrC and I stayed at on the first night of our honeymoon 46 years ago!!
The Barrisford Arms.
Found it, but looked a bit different. Has gone up market since we were there!
Had a drink sat out side in the sunshine. ( The weather has been good this weekend.)
The chef is a friend of the Roux brothers, so decided we will all have a meal there next time we are up.

Then wanted to see " The Wall" as we have not seen it before.

I liked this view, with the lovely Northumberland countryside .

A very happy weekend.
