Apple Blossom
It was a grey morning, as the haar had blown in. We therefore had another slow morning as we thought about what to do. We decided to head out in search of better weather.
As we drove west, there were the odd glimpses of the sun. By the time we got to Fochabers it was much brighter, so we headed to Gordon Castle Walked Garden. It’s an odd time to visit a garden, but there was plenty of interest, and it was quite warm in the garden, so very pleasant to wander around. There was lots of fruit blossom, and the bees were busy. There was also some lovely tulips on display. Lunch in the cafe would have been lovely, but the cafe was closed. We had lunch in the village. It was a bit of a shambles, but was ok.
We then headed down the Spey to Craigellachie, where we parked up, then walked to Aberlour. The last time we were in this area of the country, the Weather was very wet, and the Spey burst its banks. Things were much different today (see extra). We also walked to the waterfall above Aberlour, but it wasn’t nearly as impressive as it was the last time we visited.
We really enjoyed our walk in the sunshine. As we drove home it got greyer again, with some haar still hanging around at the coast. TT prepared tea, while I popped out for a walk along the beach. TT then watched another movie, while I read my book.
This is apple blossom at Gordon Castle Walled Garden against the bright blue sky. The bridge over the Spey at Craigellachie is in the extra.
