Yellow
I haven't seen a yellowhammer for some time, so I was delighted to come across a small group of them. I spent some time following them before I was eventually able to get close enough for a photo.
Although the male bird's head and chest are very yellow, their brown wings enable them to look considerably less conspicuous if they want to. On a number of occasions it was only when they took to the air that I realised that I had managed to get closer to them than I had initially realised :-)
