Finished!
The rainy day gave us the opportunity to finish off the tie-dye project begun during the summer holidays, using a kit from our big craft store.
The initial results were pleasing (see extra) but the second side, which we applied in the February half-term rather disappointing as much of the colour washed off after the 'curing' period.
Today we enhanced that with silver and black glitter fabric pens, drawn on then cured in the 'furnace' oven at 150°C for 8 minutes followed by a hot iron for 3 minutes. (Note that I had ironed the first side after curing as a matter of course - how odd that the instructions do not include this, hence the faded side when washed).
To complete the project we added a snap fastener to the top to stop it gaping, and here it is all ready to stuff with whatever he chooses.
We still have the rest of the kit to play with, maybe a T-shirt next time... .
