Blossom Overload

They told me it was going to rain today, they didn’t tell me that it was also going to be Baltic with a stiff  NE wind making the temperature feel like -3°.
I was out and about before I realised that I should have at least been wearing a hat. I was determined to get a blip of the blossom fest in the Meadows and so I ploughed on feeling as cold as I did in the middle of winter. Some of the blossom had already fallen foul of the wind and sad little florets lay all around on the grass.

I walked round the paths with their arches of intertwining branches laden with flowers before scuttling back to the relative warmth of the house. I say relative because I had optimistically turned off the central heating last week. Who thought that in 2025 hot water bottles would have such a part to play in keeping me relatively warm as I sit typing this blog while the windows leech any warmth from the house. I consider it criminal that no one thought it sensible when renovating an old building not to give the occupants the comfort of double glazing. Any way I digress. I am now holed up with my hottie, my book, my Sudoku, and my crochet and I’m not going anywhere for the rest of today.
