'No Vacancies' At The Small Hotel (A Mystery)

No cars in their car park.
No one ringing their bell.
Are Basil and Sybil still in there?
It's difficult to tell.

We haven't seen them in ages.
Though Sybil did put out a bin.
But was that weeks or months ago?
Has Sybil done Basil in?

Their old car hasn't shifted.
Maybe the battery's flat?
We do hope, we really do hope,
it's as simple as that.

They could be taking a break.
Recharging their own batteries.
Possibly they're exhausted.
Is that what the matter is?

But no cars in their car park!
No one ringing their bell!
We would call round to check they're ok
but we really don't know them that well.
