Dandelion meadow

Today I walked up the hill late in the morning, after the rain had stopped. M was here to do creative things with J, and after six years working with her she has very good communication and understanding of J's needs, frame of reference, interests and wishes, This is what the care team, recruited for their nursing and complex medical care skills, currently lack; they are trying hard with communication and doing well, but it will take time, and any interest in art, film or Doctor Who is a bonus. This means that although I'm trying to step back a little from the everyday personal care, I'm still generally very much needed for the times between the care tasks, when J wants to do something interesting but no longer has any ability to do anything independently. Today, with M here, I indulged in a walk, coffee and writing on the patio, and a bit of pot clearing in the garden.

The walk was glorious: the two large meadows beside the lane golden with dandelions, the landscape greening and dotted with blackthorn blossom, and a second little foray into the bluebell wood.
