Six Today

Today is my grandson's 6th birthday. I  have a tradition of blipping a photo, suitably re-imagined and re-photographed to comply with blip requirements, of his dad at a similar age. Past efforts are here: 16th April  2020 , 2021,  2022, 2023 and 2024.  The images are never terribly good quality because the photographs are old. 

The blip is a photograph of my grandson’s dad, aged 6. I had looked out and put in a ‘safe place’ a photo of his dad on his actual 6th birthday but inevitably I can’t lay my hands on it now. However, the photo does appear on blip here.  That is fortuitous. Today’s blip shows L’s dad eating cake – just not birthday cake. 

Googolplex is one the huge numbers that have sparked my grandson’s interest.  He loves numbers and I think he truly sees the beauty in mathematics. He can do complicated calculations of squared and cubed numbers and fails to understand that not everyone (for example this grandmother) can. 

Thank you for the concern about his plaster cast. It is off but a brace has taken its place. He still has the wheelchair and walking frame for at least another two weeks. He is a bit fed up about that and was apparently shocked when he saw the wound on his leg. But it is healing well and he’s making good progress. Just not fast enough for a six year old. 

I had to set this blip up yesterday ready for a quick photograph on the day because the girls will be here at 07:00. There won’t be time to blip while I’m busy with them. It will be especially busy because Cameraman is going to Glasgow to deliver a birthday gift of Lego to our grandson.  The family party will be at the weekend. I’m taking the girls to see a 30th anniversary showing of Babe, the sheep pig.
