Sierra Nevada
... or the foothills thereof, though if I'm wrong, they are hills and they do have snow on them - so the title still fits. As seen from the balcony outside our room. Mostly we've not been able to see the snow, as the visibility has been so low.
Can't say I've loved Roquetas, feels a bit depressing. Grey beaches, loads of wind, a bit featureless, apart from several massive hotels, like the one we're in. Surrounded by endless kilometres of plastic greenhouses to grow fruit and vegetables out of season for places like the UK, worked by exploited folk from Africa, mainly, who you see picking through the rubbish bins. Is it worth it to have cheap strawberries in April??
Still, the gratefuls:
- getting through the day, and doing both my translations, and being thanked for them!
- getting out for a shortish walk
- meeting a guy from Brazil, who had realised he'd been on a pilgrimage to our house in Brazil, with Carlinhos Queiróz, amazing! Around fifteen years ago.
