...at the Cairn.  It was a Cairn Conservation morning today (Sunday).  I was pretty knackered to start with, and did myself in with the work, but it was satisfying nonetheless - we took the longest (red) route, and replaced some step boards on the path up to Bailey's Cleave.  I went on ahead of the others in search of the next step that needed fixing, and ended up going a long way up to find one.  It was weird working on my own again, but Lexie came and joined me a little later and we finished it together.  Just as we were thinking we were nearly done (and that all the boards had already been used up), Pete turned up with another board, so we started on another step.  Thankfully there were three of us now, so I could take a bit of a break (after Pete had finished his expert leaning and chatting....)

After lunch, Tim drove us over to Barnstaple and we picked up some more ericaceous compost at the garden centre, so that we'll be ready to re-pot our Japanese maples next weekend.  After that, I did some intense resting in the afternoon - and went to bed early in the evening for a damn good sleep!
