Midnight Station Strays

After the scenic boat ride and the hairy coach ride we arrived at the train station. We had a few pints with a French couple to pass the time whilst we waited. We were catching the sleeper train halfway through it's journey so it must have been fairly early in the morning by the time we boarded.

Arriving in Singapore was interesting. They make it very clear that if you have anything dodgy on you then you may be put to death which despite my lack of illicit substances was still a bit off putting.

We took the underground to Bugis station where we found our nice little hostel, the Tree In Lodge. It was very expensive compared to Malaysia and Thailand. We were paying much more for a 16-bed dorm than we were for private ensuite rooms before.

In the evening we went to a Singapore zoo night safari.
