Alexander Fleming

I was asked to photograph this new Mural of Sir Alexander Fleming who discovered penicillin.   It is in the small village of Darvel (population just under 4,000) in East Ayrshire.

Darvel was looking very nice in the afternoon sunshine but there isn't much to see.  It is famous for three things  -  1) Birthplace of Alexander Fleming who discovered penicillin;  2) was once a leader in lace making; 3) Its small football team knocked Aberdeen out of the Scottish Cup in 2023!
