Jamesfield

Jamesfield has a garden centre, and a cafe next door which is independent of the garden centre and is owned by the nearby farm and also rents out space to small businesses.

There was a flyer through the door this week offering a free tray of bedding plants worth 4.99. We met Laura and Dave there and picked up a tray each of violas. They are a lovely mauve colour. We then went to the Cafe and had a coffee and home made cake sitting in the dog friendly area as we had Lucca with us which has comfy sofas and chairs with a table in the centre.

Were there for around an hour and had a good chat.

This scene of the geese is one funniest scenario’s Ben and I had when he was a wee boy. Every time I go here I laugh as I remember the sight of a waiter from the Cafe running down the hill telling us to get out of the field, where Ben was playing on their slide and swings (after climbing a fence to get in as the gate was padlocked). He shouted about scaring the geese (who were sleeping further up I pointed out). Then he said it wasn’t hygienic due to faeces all over the field . Ben was happily playing away while this was happening , but we were ordered out. Then in the car going home from the back in his car seat all he was shouting was ‘faeces , what are faeces Nana. I didn’t think he had listened to the guy since he was playing on the slide but of course kids miss nothing, he was 3 at the time. A jobbie, faeces are jobbies just a polite word for them. We laughed all the way on the drive home shouting ‘faeces’. It’s the simple things in life haha!!

I miss those crazy, funny days with a youngster…

Anyway, there is no slide and swings anymore, it is now an extension to their car park!
