Building Extensions

Hatchlands Park House near Guildford has been in the hands of just 3 families since 1749 before passing to the National Trust in 1945. During that time the original house was rebuilt in 1749 and altered and extended over the years, including use as a WW1 hospital, WW2 girl's school and even as the printing works for The Times newspaper during the print union strikes of the early 1960s.

The roof as seen from the courtyard, with it's eclectic angles and shapes,  perhaps shows some of the developments over the years.
