Nippy ...

What a cold day this was! There wasn't much rain - indeed, I think most of it fell during the five minutes it takes me to walk from my house to the Pilates studio (wet leggings) - but the chill in the air negated any attempt by the sun to warm things up. Pilates did have me taking off my jesey quite early on, but that was more the vigorous stretching we were doing again today rather than any dilution of the cold.

I was too stressed to sit down with my coffee when I got home without first completing the set-up of the new cash card with Apple pay; fortunately a helpful young bloke at the end of the phone line did it for me, after first plying me with a reassuring number of security questions. That left me free to sit with the coffee and extra Italian without any further nagging sense of something left to do - unless there actually is and I've now forgotten all about it.

It was a long time after we'd eaten lunch that either of us felt up to going anywhere, and because there are so many things happening this week we decided to combine a quick run-through of some plainsong (the Mag and Nunc for tomorrow) with the walk up to church. We sang; we shared news with the locker-upper for today, we admired the newly-re-painted sign at the foot of the drive (today's extra). It feels official now - we have a new Rector. As we came down the drive, two geese flew overhead, necks outstretched, honking loudly; we don't often see them up here even though they're plentiful down at Ardyne.

I was so cold when I got in that I had a bath. This is far more significant than you might think; I've not had a bath for well over a year,* and was slightly doubtful of my ability to get out of it again. However, I have to report that all was well and that all this Pilates is obviously having some effect as I got out nae bother - and what a wonderfully warm and relaxing interlude that was before dinner!

The main photo had me outside to take it in the middle of dinner because it was so beautiful. (I thought of calling this entry "Silhouettes at Sunset", which I think is rather cool but misleading.)

* I do, however, take showers ...
