Birsay Bay Birds

A nice day on Birsay Bay. Sunny, but with lots of nice clouds about, and a coolish breeze from the south.
The purple sandpipers seem to wait until almost awash before taking off before the waves, as did the oystercatcher. Three pairs of shelduck there- they nest on the links nearby in rabbit burrows (extra).
Also- 3 wheatear, c18 sand martins, wigeon, teal, turnstone, ringed plover ,1 bonxie etc.
