Cowslips

A good display of Cowslips at the Leighton Moss bird reserve.
These were grown from local seed and are clearly introduced.
A couple of miles away in the Gait Barrows National Nature Reserve there are Cowslips growing wild. There they are the food plant of the Duke of Burgundy butterfly.
