Herbs

This afternoon I was going to use the fire pit as a brazier to mop up all the fallen twigs in the garden but just as I was prepping it a stiff breeze got up and as we have thatch, and dry thatch at that I thought it better not.  Rather deflating as I love a fire pit.

All the willows have broken leaf now but I am watching the two ornamental ones to see if they still have the virus that knocked them back last year.  They get into leave and then it starts to die back for a few weeks before recovering. They seem more bushy at the moment than at equivalent time last year.
I didn’t sleep well last night so was a bit under powered during the day, a longed for full day at home with Vikram.  We did some planning for V’s birthday party and went through calendars and things but nothing BIG.  Still I managed my steps by a longish walk in the morning.

Cooked some asparagus from Durleighmarsh for lunch and a delicious herby lamb recipe in the evening.  It was a badly written recipe, weirdly specific about some elements and vague about others but it turned out good.  It’s such a joy cooking with herbs at this time of year when they are new and bright and well behaved!
