The delicacy of spring treetops
I snatched half an hour to walk up the hill just before the sun disappeared behind it, and couldn't resist filling my phone with the silhouettes of trees against the golden landscape and the delicate, lacy intricacy of emerging foliage against the sky. At the top, in the woods, the canopy is on the cusp of bursting from its winter outlines; the main photo shows the light playing on it, but I also enjoyed playing with the shapes in contrasty black and white in the first extra. The second extra, of the woodland floor strewn with wood anemones and the trunks receding into the softly colouring sky, shows the light I walked through as I left the wood.
