Sunday in Orkney

Late  morning and we went in past to visit my mother in the Care Home.  She went into her bathroom unaided.  Although she takes a while to get going, she is pretty mobile.  I was glad CMC was present to witness the next part.  My Mum started calling for a cauliflower, quietly at first, then gradually rising to an out and out shout.  Separately we both went in to see her only to come out perplexed.  When she came out she mimed the cauliflower, which turned out to be a mop, which wasn’t required anyway.  She appreciated the daffodils CMC had picked and was fairly happy the remainder of the time.  We then went for a walk deep in the Parish of Harray and CMC took me to lunch in a well known hotel.  We went our dingers and even bought our first Sunday newspaper of the year.  Back at HQ we were just settling down to read the paper when Moyra and Jim called along; we haven’t seen them for quite some time.  It’ll soon be time for ‘Sing Something Simple’ and the attendant loading of the shotgun.
